So what do you do when your “Check Engine Light” comes on? This could mean many things from the simplest of fixes to a big fix depending on what could be going on in your vehicle. When a Check Engine Light appears, it comes from a sensor connected to your vehicle’s ECM, or “engine control module”. It can be an indicator of needed maintenance, or it could also be warning you that a major component issue may happen if not address properly.
Each sensor connected to the ECM will register a code within the ECM that will let the technicians know that the nature of the item needing service or replacement. While it may seem easy for a mechanic to read these codes, it requires very expensive equipment and many years of experience to understand exactly what is causing the code to appear in your vehicle.
If there is a faulty part or system that is bad enough to cause damage that is serious and expensive. The ECM will most likely put your vehicle in a “self-preservation” mode that limits the power on your vehicle which will then at least help you get to a location to diagnose the issues your vehicle is having. If this happens, it is highly recommended to take it to your trusted shop to oversee the issue to avoid serious damage to your vehicle.
When your “Check Engine Light” appears. Do not avoid it. Be sure to get your vehicle looked at even if it’s a small issue. Even the small issues can turn into an expensive repair bill that no one likes to see at any mechanic shop. But unfortunately, these things happen.

Camber refers to the outward or inward angle of the tire when you view it from a front of the vehicle. Too much outward or inward tile, also referred to as positive and negative camber, respectively, is indicative of improper alignment that requires adjusting. It can be caused bu worn ball joints, bearings, and other parts of the suspension system.
The caster angle is what helps balance steering, cornering as well as stability. It is the steering axis’s angle when you view it from the side of the vehicle. In case there’s a positive caster, the steering axis tilts towards the driver. If you have negative caster, the steering axis tilts towards the front of the vehicle.
Toe alignment refers to the extent to which the tires turn either outward or inward when you view them from above. If the tires on your vehicle are angled the same way, it is referred to as toe-in alignment. Similarly, if the tires on your vehicle are angled outward, this is referred to as toe-out alignment.
